Man hurt in Carlisle ‘hate’ attack

[P]olice are investigating a hate incident and assault that occurred on Tuesday 5th September 2017 at approximately 11:30am at the bus stop on West Tower Street, Carlisle City Centre.

The victim is a 53-year-old man from Carlisle was verbally abused and assaulted, sustaining minor injuries to his face.

The suspects are described as two women, one in her fifties, about 5 foot tall with a heavy build. She had shoulder length, brown hair which is straight with a fringe across her forehead.  She was wearing a black cardigan and leggings.

The second woman is described in her 20’s, about 5’7″ or 5’8″, with a thin build. She had short hair that is shaved on the sides and longer on top and light or dyed in colour.

At the time of the incident there were many potential witnesses and so police are requesting people to come forward.
