[A] CARLISLE crook with 185 previous offences on his record has been locked up for a heroin supply crime.
Mark Richard Davidson, 48, was jailed for five years and seven months at the city’s crown court today (THURS). This followed his guilty plea to a charge of possessing class A heroin with intent to supply.
Davidson was brought to justice along with another man after police noted suspicious activity at a Carlisle petrol station on July 7 after coincidentally calling in.
Disley, 26, of Liverpool, was caught red-handed in possession of the illegal substance and jailed for 40 months at the crown court last Friday.
It was after Disley’s arrest that police attended a Carlisle address and located Davidson. Around £2,500 heroin was found in his jacket, and £1,400 cash was found at his home.
Davidson, of Bower Street, Carlisle, was said to have two previous class A drugs supply offences on his record. This made him liable for a minimum seven-year prison term which was reduced slightly by Judge Peter Hughes QC in view of the defendant’s admission.
Judge Hughes told Davidson: “You have one of the longest criminal records I think I have seen in recent years.”
