[C]umbrian charity Team Evie is having one last push for votes following its recognition by The Butterfly Awards, a national charity awards scheme.
Team Evie has been shortlisted in two award categories at this year’s Butterfly Awards – a national awards ceremony to recognise those who have lost a baby and gone on to make a difference to others. Shortlisted for both ‘Committed Babyloss Volunteers’ and ‘Inspirational Father’, Team Evie is appealing for last minute support before the voting closes on Sunday 1st October.
Greg and Jill Johnston set up Team Evie in 2015, in memory of their daughter Evie, to help poorly children and to support families who face associated challenges. The charity coordinates the only Bereavement Support group for parents in West Cumbria and fundraises for specialist equipment and child friendly resources to be available in children’s wards across the county and the North East.
Greg Johnston, Evie’s dad and co-founder of Team Evie said: “We are so honoured to have been nominated and shortlisted as finalists by the Butterfly Awards. We are beyond grateful for the votes we have already received and we’d be so thankful for any additional support before the public vote closes on Sunday, so that we can continue to make a difference to other children and their families.”
The winners of the Butterfly Awards will be announced at a black-tie event at Bank House Hotel in Worcester on 14th October 2017.
