[F]our males were arrested last night (12 Oct, 2017) following reports of a theft from a person at a cash machine in Barrow and a knife-point robbery where a car was stolen.

Cumbria Police received a report at around 8.45pm that a woman at a cash machine in Anchor Road had withdrawn money and had it snatched from her hands by a group of males.

At around the same time, the Constabulary received a report from a delivery driver who was in Ramsden Dock Road when he was approached by a group of masked males, one of whom had a knife.

They threatened the driver and stole the vehicle – a grey Peugeot 206 – before driving off in it.

The vehicle was recovered a short time later having been abandoned in Old Rampside Road.

Police dogs and a drone were deployed to help trace the males and four arrests were made.

Police arrested a 21-year-old from Barrow, a 17-year-old from Barrow and a 15-year-old from Manchester on suspicion of theft from person and robbery.

Officers also arrested a 23-year-old man from Barrow on suspicion of possession of a Class B drug and robbery.

All four males remain in police custody this morning.
