Cuckoo Brow Inn’s general manager Jordan Musgrave and assistant manager Emily Waters celebrating the pub’s latest accolade, an entry into the independent Good Hotel Guide for 2018.

[A] Lake District pub in the village of Far Sawrey, has won its third accolade in almost as many months.

Managers Jordan Musgrave and Emily Waters at the Cuckoo Brow Inn are celebrating the news that the cosy B&B has been selected as a new entry in the Good Hotel Guide for 2018.

Now in its 40th year, hotels cannot buy their entry into the guide and the editors and inspectors do not accept free hospitality on their anonymous visits to hotels.

This latest news comes on the back of the pub receiving a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence Awards (2017) and its appearance in a list of an insider’s guide to the best Lake District hotels, produced by Telegraph newspaper this summer.

Cuckoo Brow Inn is a short walk from Beatrix Potter’s Hill Top home in Near Sawrey. It serves excellent hearty food and local ales and welcomes dogs, children, walkers, cyclists and weekend travellers with log fires.

Formerly The Sawrey Hotel, it was bought by South Lakes Hotels owner Jonathan Denby in July 2010 and underwent a major restoration to offer 14 bedrooms, a bar, lobby, dining room, lounge/games room, and a gravelled terrace and small garden.
