[P]olice have confirmed that the man who died on the A66 this morning (December 13th) has been formally identified as David Robinson, 53, of Keswick.

He was pronounced dead by paramedics after being found injured at around 7.30am.

Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the death, but believe he may have been hit by a HGV.

Police have now identified the driver of the vehicle they believe was involved in the incident.

Officers are still appealing for anyone who has dashcam footage of the A66, near to Keswick, between the early hours and 7.30am yesterday (December 13th).

Anyone with information should contact police on 101 and ask to speak to PC 1947 Ross.
