Tim Farron with competition winner Matthew Webber

[M]atthew Webb, a Levens CE School student, has won 1st Prize in Tim Farron’s Christmas Card Competition.

The Year 5 pupil was one of hundreds of students from across South Lakeland who submitted a design for Tim’s competition.

Matthew’s winning design has been reproduced over 40,000 times, and is being delivered to every household in the constituency.

Sophie Tuson (Year 2) of Sedbergh Primary School came second in the competition, whilst third place went to Amelie Hudson (Year 3) of Heron Hill Primary School.

Tim said: “The Christmas Card Competition gets harder and harder to judge each year as the standard of entries just keeps going up, but Matthew’s design really stood out.

“He did a brilliant job and I am delighted that his work will now be seen and admired by thousands of South Lakes residents.

“I’d like to say a huge thank you to all the pupils who took part in the competition and wish all of them a very Merry Christmas!”
