[A]mbleside based Lakeland Leather won the prize for the Best Multi-Channel Retailer – Under £25m at the Drapers Digital Festival Awards in London.
The awards, which also recognised internet giants ASOS, Amazon and John Lewis, acknowledged the Lake District retailer’s growth and their careful introduction of new technologies to help customers, both in stores and online.
Martin Foster, Managing Director of Lakeland Leather, said “To be shortlisted by the top trade magazine in our industry meant a lot, especially as we’re predominantly based in the North of England – away from the fashion press. But to win the award, is a fantastic achievement.
“We are particularly proud as it shows how our stores and website can work together to deliver an exceptional customer experience. Our stores continue to flourish during a difficult time on the high street, and our website has grown by 40% in each of the last two years.
“We’ll continue to look at ways to make the shopping experience even more enjoyable for our customers – and with our yourLAKELAND affinity scheme, we’ll keep rewarding them for their loyalty.”
Lakeland Leather was launched in 1955, and have 15 stores across the UK. They launched their mobile-friendly website last year. Best known for their leather and sheepskin jackets, they also have a wide range of women’s and men’s clothing, alongside real leather handbags and luggage.
