[W]orkington’s Energy Coast UTC hosted the Season 3 regional finals of the ‘Race for the Line Rocket Car’ challenge today (2/5/2018).
Teachers from The Energy Coast UTC have already visited students from Ullswater Community College, Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, Caldew School, Richard Rose Morton Academy, Furness Academy School and The Lakes School to complete the school qualifiers. The winners from each school then compete in the regional final where the winning team will go on to RAF Whittering to compete in the National Finals on 28/6/2018.
A prize of £2000 is at stake for the national winning team.
A spokesman for Workington’s Energy Coast UTC said: “Congratulations to Queen Elizabeth Grammar School for completing a clean sweep and taking 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in the regional final.
“We wish them the very best of luck in the national finals in June.”
