Public to benefit from launch of Allerdale Local Focus Hub

[P]eople living in Allerdale are to be better served following the launch of a multi-agency hub yesterday (27 June).

The Allerdale Local Focus Hub will bring together partner agencies into one space – Cockermouth Police Station. Around 60 people representing different organisations and agencies serving Allerdale attended the launch.

Issues in the Allerdale community can then be referred into the hub and dealt with by different agencies working together, rather than each one operating alone.

The manager of the Allerdale Local Focus Hub, Sergeant Suzanne Redikin, said: “The strength of the Hub is it brings partners together, often under the same roof, so that people from different agencies can work on joint solutions to what can be complex issues.

“It won’t change the way people can report crimes or issues of concerns to the police but may alter and improve the way we investigate and seek solutions to those reports on our end.

“By pooling expertise we can all work together to secure the best possible outcomes for the public.”

The Allerdale Hub follows in the footsteps of the Copeland Hub which was launched in December 2016.

Issues which can expect to be referred into the Hub can include antisocial behaviour, housing issues and much more.

The Hub will bring together organisations such as the police, local councils, housing associations, drug and alcohol support services and charities.
