[I]n the ultimate test of strength and endurance, on August 4 2018 local business woman Joanne Moore of Moore Wealth, will take on a challenge like no other.  Joanne will be raising money for  in aid of St Mary’s Hospice Ulverston.  Joanne has directly experienced how the care and compassion extended by the Hospice can make such a huge difference at such a significant time.  In honour of those no longer here and the great work of St Mary’s, it’s time to tackle Total Warrior!

Pushing participants’ mental and physical abilities to the limit, Total Warrior is the last word when it comes to a challenge; competitors must face freezing ice baths, deep pools of mud, and scorching walls of fire over a distance of 10k to reach the finish line. Joanne is no stranger to endurance racing, having completed the Great North Run in 2013, however this year’s challenge is her toughest yet.

As she did in 2013, Joanne will be running Total Warrior in aid of local charity St Mary’s Hospice Ulverston, which provides specialised care and support for those with life limiting conditions in South Cumbria. The hospice’s care and support was invaluable and now Joanne wants to give something back to a charity which does much needed work in the local community.

“The work that St Mary’s Hospice does is fantastic,” says Joanne. “Their help and support during a really difficult time was exactly what we needed.  We are blessed to have such a facility on our door step and it’s important to do what we can to ensure they are able to continue their superb work. Taking part in Total Warrior is definitely going to be a challenge but I can’t wait to get stuck in (hopefully not literally – it’s a very muddy course!). Everyone’s support so far has been amazing.”

Joanne will be getting wet and muddy on behalf of Moore Wealth, a financial planning company who also work to make a difference to their clients lives, helping them find ways to manage their finances during life events, whether good or sad.  Joanne will be raising money for the St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation in aid of St Mary’s Hospice.  St James’s Place Wealth Management will donate an equivalent amount to support other worthy causes matching the amount raised by Joanne directly for the benefit of St Mary’s Hospice; donations can be made via Joanne’s Just Giving page.
