[M]oonsick Productions, a local production company based in Cumbria are putting together their first feature length film, ‘Wolfboy’, to begin shooting mid-September.
‘Wolfboy’ is a feature length film that tackles the loss of family, and the trials and tribulations of mental illness, all topped-off with the curse of a Werewolf.
Moonsick Productions is run by Maximillian Tyler, an actor, writer, and musician that has appeared in productions locally, in London, and Japan, and Daniel McNicholas a local artist, working in visual effects, animation, and conceptual art.
The piece aims to raise awareness for various mental illnesses, and tackle the stigma surrounding such issues. Moonsick Productions have a diverse production team, including those that have been living with mental illness themselves.
They are also working with Bafta and Emmy nominated Director of Photography Peter Tyler, who said: “West Cumbria is very much out on a limb when it comes to the Arts. We’re well over an hour from the M6, but the area is outstanding. Sandy beaches, mountains and lakes, great sunsets. Mostly unexploited on film due to its isolation. ‘Wolfboy’ will be filmed in West Cumbria and could really put us on the map, for all the right reasons.”
Moonsick Productions recently launched a Kickstarter for the project, as they are looking for funding to help the production. With the support of the public they hope to bring this film to audiences by August next year.
They hope that the film will strengthen the state of the Arts in the local area, and inspire future artists to pursue works of purpose and of meaning.
