A local couple’s Diamond Wedding Celebrations had raised £600 to help the care, support and activities provided at Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice.

On Sunday 9 September around 45 people joined Ann and Dick Haugh at Thursby Parish Hall to celebrate 60 years of marriage. The wonderful afternoon included a buffet, lunch time bar and Dick arrange for the church bells to sound whilst the guests arrived.

The kindness and generosity of Ann and Dick’s family and friends helped to raise £600 for the local charity as people make donations in lieu of gifts on the day. The money raised by the guests will help Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw to provide the highest standards of care, support and activities to local children and young adults with life limiting illnesses.

Mr and Mrs Haugh wedding anniversary took place on Tuesday 11 September and the couple received a card from Her Majesty The Queen to celebration the occasion.

If you would like to fundraise in aid of Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice please visit www.edenvalleyhospice.org or contact the Fundraising Team on 01228 810801.
