CBA Events are pleased to announce the launch of their annual charity event Dragon Bay, for the fifth consecutive year. This time the event will have a new focus.

Taking place on Sunday 7th July 2019 on Lake Windermere in the beautiful setting of Low Wood Bay Resort and Spa, Dragon Bay will see up to 18 teams compete in a regatta to win the title of Race Champions.

In previous years an entry fee has been required to run the day, with any extra money raised by teams going to charity. However, this year, CBA Events have pledged to cover all running costs of the event as part of their annual charity work, to make sure 100% of money raised goes to the teams’ chosen charities and worthy causes.

In order to take part, every boat must raise a minimum of £800, with £50 going to Paddlers for Life and £750 going to a charity of their choice. Paddlers for Life is an amazing charity which aims to support and help those suffering from cancer through physical activity, most notably dragon boating.

In the past, teams have raised thousands for their chosen charities, benefiting local sports clubs, cancer charities, primary schools and day care provision for Cumbrian people living with dementia whilst raising awareness for Paddlers for Life. CBA Events believe passionately in smaller events supporting local charities and, with the support of English Lakes Hotels, this has been the driving force behind the regatta’s success year upon year.

Everyone from corporates, groups of friends, community foundations and family members are welcome to enter a team and are promised a jam-packed day full of fun, both on and off the water. The day will start with a warm up by Low Wood Bay Health Club, then every team will take part in two qualifying races before the fastest three go on to compete in the final to see who wins the coveted award of Race Champions. The day will also include a Tug-o-War competition, Haka demonstrations and an awards ceremony to celebrate the best of the day’s fancy dress and top fundraisers to name but a few.

All teams who enter the competition will receive a free evening training session prior to the event, delivered by CBA Events on Lake Windermere.
