On 12th March, Windermere Information and Mountain Goat will be raising vital funds for The Brain Tumour Charity, the UK’s leading charity dedicated to fighting this devastating disease, by hosting a big bandana bake off, at Windermere Information on Victoria Street, staff from Mountain Goat and Windermere Information will having a huge cake sale on and baking all different types of cakes. All cakes sold will go towards the brain tumour charity.

Kate who is organising the event was inspired to hold the event because over a short period of time she personally has lost one many people from brain tumours. She wanted to host this to raise awareness on brain tumours and see if we as a company can make a difference! And plus, they are all huge cake lovers! So, they are going to be selling cakes on Tuesday 12th March all day!

Kate said: “I am really looking forward to holding the event for such an important cause, we are getting all our staff involved and including our fantastic drivers/guides, I work for such a lovely company and for them to support this is fantastic”

Kate is aiming to raise £500 for The Brain Tumour Charity through the cakes sales alone.

Geraldine Pipping, The Charity’s Director of Fundraising, said: “We are extremely grateful for all the efforts made by our fantastic fundraisers and wish them all the very best.

“Brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer of the under 40s and, unlike other cancers, survival rates have not improved over the last 40 years.

“We are leading the way in changing this and truly fighting brain tumours on all fronts through our work.

“We receive no government funding and rely 100% on voluntary donations, so it’s only through the efforts of people like Kate that we can change these shocking statistics in the future and bring hope to the thousands of people who are diagnosed with a brain tumour every year.”
