During a professional Target wrestling match in Carlisle, a spectator had to be ejected from the Venue Club on English Gate Plaza on the evening of Saturday February 9.
Appearing from custody was Colin Mark Deugo, 31, of Mount Pleasant Road, Carlisle, he failed to appear in court last month and a warrant for his arrest was made, today (Monday).
Deugo faced a charge of behaving in a disorderly manner in public, a public order offence, and causing damage to a wall. He pleaded guilty to both charges.
Magistrates in Carlisle were told how the defendant tried to get past the metal barriers near the wrestling ring, he was very abusive and was annoying other patrons watching the wrestling, he was asked to leave by security but refused and was ejected from the Venue Club.
While being ejected he kicked out at a wall in the club causing damage, once outside the club he again started to be abusive and was clearly drunk, stewards held him until police arrived and he was arrested.
Duego told the court this was a one off, “an isolated incident it’s out of character”, he was drunk and apologised, he was then reminded by a court legal advisor he was due in court later this month for again causing criminal damage, when he caused damage to a bonnet of a Seat taxi on December 20, last -year, after a taxi journey when he didn’t pay the fare, he got abusive to the driver and was again drunk, he said I was at a “works do”, he works for a scaffolding company and had no money and had drank too-much, he also pleaded guilty to causing criminal damage to the taxi during today’s (Monday) hearing.
Magistrates fined Duego £263 for the criminal damage to the taxi with compensation of £360 to pay, and a fine of £131 for the damage to the Venues wall with compensation of £100, prosecution costs of £85 and a victims surcharge of £30, a total of £969.
