Longtown Primary School are extremely proud to have been given an official ‘Good’ rating following their recent Ofsted Inspection. This is particularly exciting given that this is the first time in the school’s history this has been achieved.

Having been rated with a ‘Good’ inspection right across the board, Headteacher at Longtown Primary School, Cate Floyd, remarked; “The report is overwhelmingly positive and reflects the progress we have made since becoming part of Cumbria Education Trust in September 2016.

“We are particularly proud that our teachers were praised for bringing learning to life, that the significant improvements in attendance were recognised and that our pupils’ behaviour is impeccable and that they have positive attitudes towards their learning.

“As a school, and with the support of the Trust, we will continue to strive to improve in those areas identified for further improvement. It is our challenge to see that, as a school, every element of our work reaches the highest levels possible. Our Trust moto is to be the best you can be and this is what we will strive to do for the young people and community of Longtown.”

Lorrayne Hughes, Chief Executive for the Cumbria Education Trust, added: “This is a fantastic achievement for Longtown Primary School. We are extremely proud of all that Cate and the rest of the staff have achieved. The pupils are at the heart of everything that we do, to be graded good in all categories is a fantastic achievement, well done to all.”

To mark the success of the Ofsted report, a celebratory event has been planned in the school this week.
