The Cumbria Armed Forces Breakfast Club has been meeting for over three years and as part of their meet ups they have chosen to support Eden Valley Hospice, reaching out to the local charity to see how they could support them.

The Club meets twice a month and includes serving members, veterans, reservists and families of serving personnel. Many long-lasting friendships have been formed and from this, social events and day trips have been organised.

Angela Barrett, Club Secretary said, “Our members wanted to start doing something in the local community and as a club we decided supporting the Hospice would be ideal. We will have collections at our meetings and are keen to be more involved. One of our members has even hand crafted a beautiful rocking horse that is being raffled off.”

Sam Johnston, Community and Events Fundraiser at Eden Valley Hospice added, “Having the support of the Cumbria Armed Forces Breakfast Club is vital to the Hospice. Active community groups like this are key to us raising over £3 million each year so we can care for families in our local area when they need it the most. We cannot thank them enough!”

The money raised will help Eden Valley Hospice specialist team of nurses and doctors to provide the highest standards of care, support and activities to local adults with life limiting illnesses. This care and compassion is extended to all of the patients’ family, friends and carers.
