Bob Ross-along Myriad Studio

Myriad Studio is running two events in the same day to give people the opportunity to try painting along with Bob Ross’ TV programme, The Joy of Painting.

Bob Ross was an American artist who believed that everyone has an inherent artistic talent and could become an accomplished artist given time, practice, and encouragement, and to this end was often fond of saying, “We don’t make mistakes; we just have happy accidents.”

During his TV show Bob Ross instructs viewers how to create a painting using an oil paint technique which he breaks down into simple steps.

Two episodes of the programme will be shown during each event and people will be painting along with oil paint.

Certified Bob Ross Instructor, Tony Goldthorpe, will start the event with a mini intro to oil painting and will be on hand to give tips during the event.

“You do not need to be able to paint to join this paint along, it’s just about having a good time! Painting along with Bob is not easy, he plans his paintings and he paints quick! There will be no pauses during the show, so everyone just has to try and keep up. It’s all part of the fun!” – Kat Prior, Myriad Studio Director.

This is the second time Myriad Studio has run this event. Last time was so successful that the team and very excited to be running another one. Most people who came to the last event had never painted before.

“It was really friendly and inclusive. Learnt a skill but also made friends” – attendee of Bob Ross-along in May.

“It was fun, relaxed, with great people and well organised.” – Lyndsey, attendee of Bob Ross-along in May.

The Bob Ross-along is on Saturday 23rd November, two events; morning 11.30am-2.30pm, evening 7.00pm-9.45pm. At Penrith Old Fire Station, Bridge Lane, CA11 8HY.
