Cllr John Cook

Businesses involved in the tourism sector in Allerdale are being invited to a special breakfast briefing where they can hear specialist advice and link-up with other firms.

Allerdale Borough Council’s Place Development team will be hosting another of their popular business breakfast briefings virtually on Friday, November 20 from 8.30am.

The briefing will be an opportunity for businesses to hear from Graham Lamont, from Lamont Pridmore who provide accountancy advice and consulting services, about Covid-19 support and information for tourism and hospitality businesses. Also on the agenda will be a presentation from Janet Addison, from Digital Tech Cumbria, on the importance of digital for tourism businesses.

Alongside these presentations those who attend will also hear from Cllr John Cook, the council’s Executive member for leisure and tourism, the council’s new Business Services Coordinator Ellie Jones and hear an update on the work of the council’s Place Development Team from Joe Broomfield, the Tourism Development manager.

Cllr Cook said: “It’s never been more crucial that businesses get the information they need to help them through these difficult times. As a council we’ve been doing everything we can to support the tourism industry and this briefing will be another opportunity to hear about the different help that’s on offer and what we’re doing to support the visitor economy.”

Over the last two years the council has held regular breakfast briefings at different locations in the area however, due to the pandemic the meetings are now happening virtually.

Any business wanting to attend should email joe.broomfield@allerdale.gov.uk for the details.
