St Bees School will open a third campus in China, it has revealed and a new headteacher will be recruited to take charge of the original school.
The independent school, run by the Full Circle Education Group, already has two sister schools in China and is planning to open the third in September 2022.
From this September, head Roger Sinnett will take up an extended role within the group as director of education, overseeing the development of the schools in China and the UK.
Mr Sinnett will maintain his oversight of St Bees School, working alongside the school’s senior lead team, but extend his remit to the other three St Bees schools in China.
A new head will be recruited for the school in the coming weeks, it said.
He said: “All four St Bees schools follow a similar curriculum, enabling our UK students to spend time at one of our Chinese schools, and vice versa.
“This is our ‘twin-campus concept’, expanding our students’ international horizons and developing a global mind-set.”
