Police probe after driver assaulted by motorcyclist in Egremont

A motorist was allegedly assaulted after a motorbike drove into the back of his BMW.

Police are investigating the incident, which was reported to have occurred at around 5pm on Main Street in Egremont on Saturday.

It is reported a rider on a motorcycle drove into the back of the blue BMW causing damage.

The rider was with a larger group of motorcyclists.

The BMW has also been followed by the motorcyclist and has had to come to a stop and the driver of the BMW has been assaulted through his window.

No injury was caused.

Anyone with information or who witnessed the incident or has dashcam of the incident is encouraged to contact police on 101 quoting log number 178 of the 3rd April 2021.

Alternatively, call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
