A Cumbrian butchers and pie maker has created the UK’s longest-known sausage roll.

The new Supersize Sausage Roll, created by Higginsons of Grange, measures a whopping 23 inches.

They’ve created the extra large pastry especially for Father’s Day. Buyers will receive a free bottle of Hawkshead Brewery Windermere Pale Ale to wash down their sausage roll.

Each week the south Cumbrian family business sell 2,000 regular sausage rolls and more than 3,000 pies.

“Our Supersize Sausage Roll is four times longer than our usual Sausage Rolls, which are quite large in themselves,” said Higginsons managing director, Mark Porter.

“Our sausage rolls are one of our signature products and are loved by customers of all ages, but particularly dads. We wanted to create a special Father’s Day sausage roll that has the wow factor and we hope that they’ll go down a storm.”

The sausage roll is available for pre-order, for collection from their shop in Grange-over-Sands on June 18 and June 19 and is priced at £15.
