A West Cumbrian theatre group will be brining Terry Pratchett’s Wyrd Sisters to life later this month.
Rehearsals are well underway for Whitehaven and District Amateur Operatic Society’s production, which will take to the stage at Rosehill Theatre from May 21 to May 24.
Terry Pratchett’s novel, adapted for the stage, is a spellbinding and satirical tale of three witches, royal intrigue, and theatrical chaos.
James Last returns as director and Jason Fleming will take to the stage once again – this time as the ambitious and darkly comedic Duke Felmet.
The group said: “The production promises a lively mix of humour, fantasy, and a touch of the macabre, sure to entertain Discworld fans and newcomers alike.”

The company is celebrating a string of accolades following the recent North West Regional National Operatic and Dramatic Association Awards, with multiple nominations and two big wins for its 2024 season.
Its production of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest earned four nominations, including Best Drama, Best Leading Male in a Drama (Jae Wilson), Best Supporting Male in a Drama (Jason Fleming), and Best Director of a Drama (James Last).
The company took home two of those awards, with James Last named Best Director of a Drama and Jason Fleming winning Best Supporting Male in a Drama
Its staging of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat received a nomination for Best Choreographer, recognising the work of Tracy McOuat.
Tickets for Wyrd Sisters are available from the Rosehill Theatre box office.
