
With 3.1 million hashtags, the Lake District has been revealed to be the most Instagrammed natural beauty spot in the world, according to latest research.
To uncover some of the most amazing nature spots the world has to offer, The Body Shop looked at countries which it sources ingredients from, paired with Instagram data to reveal the top natural beauty spots.
Around 15.8 million visitors come to the Lake District each year to enjoy the area, which covers 2,362 square kilometres.
In second place is Italy’s Amalfi Coast, with 2.8 million hashtags. Italy also takes the third spot, alongside France and Switzerland thanks to Mont Blanc which has 2.6m hashtags.
Making its second appearance in the top five, the UK also takes the fourth spot thanks to Scotland’s Highlands, with 2.4m hashtags on Instagram.
In fifth place is Italy again, with the Dolomites, which has 2.2m hashtags.
The rest of the top 10 features Spain, France and Andorra’s Pyrenees (1.8m), Spain’s Sierra Nevada (1.4m), Italy’s Mount Etna (1.3m), Ecuador’s Islas Galapagos (1.2m) and Italy’s Lago di Como (1.1m).
