Ellenborough Amateur Rugby League Club has paid a lasting tribute to their former president and mentor Kevan Gorge.
Kevan died suddenly at the age of 73 last December and when Elbra opened the new stand at the Solway Park ground it was named in his honour.
The club said: “It was an honour to officially open our stand at our first home game of the season and naming it the Kevan Gorge Stand.
“It is a fitting tribute to Kevan as without him there wouldn’t be an Ellenborough Rangers.
“We gave him the best seat in the house with his name watching over his beloved players and supporters.”

A former pupil of Ellenborough infant and junior schools, Kevan was involved with Netherhall football club’s junior set-up but is more widely known for his involvement with the Elbra rugby league club.
He also joined the board of Workington Town and was chairman when the club enjoyed its one season in the inaugural Super League.
