Workington Reds are to play one more friendly ahead of their National Premier League start on August 14.
Morpeth Town, who have climbed to NPL Premier Division level, will visit Borough Park on Saturday (3pm) for the final ‘dress rehearsal.’
The 2016 FA Vase winners should have been playing Hebburn Town in their final warm-up but that has had to be postponed.
Reds assistant manager Steven Rudd said: “We had told the NPL secretary we were looking for a game and he put us in touch with Morpeth when their match was postponed.
“It’s a perfect one really. Morpeth have some good players and from a league higher now it will be a good test again for us.
“We are training twice this week, have the Morpeth game and then it will be two more training sessions and fully focused on the league kick-off at Kidsgrove.”
Reds should have a full squad to choose from, with the only doubt over midfield player Ceiran Casson who hasn’t yet had the chance to show new manager Chris Willcock what he is capable of.
The talented teenager suffered a groin injury in the friendly at Whitehaven and has not played in any of the subsequent games.
He is expected to train a little tonight and hopefully more on Thursday before being given a brief runout against Morpeth.
