Police have charged a man with conspiracy to supply class A drugs and human trafficking as part of ongoing action to tackle suspected county lines activity in Barrow.
Ben Heavyside, 30, of Melbourne Street, Barrow, appeared at the town’s magistrates’ court today, where he was remanded in custody.
The charges come after a drugs warrant was executed by south Cumbria’s community serious and organised crime unit and the constabulary tactical support unit at Titchfield Street, Barrow, on Thursday.
Heroin and cash was seized.
A teenage child was also safeguarded during the operation, a police statement said.
These actions fall under Cumbria police’s Operation Rampart to defend communities against county lines.
The case was adjourned and will be heard at Preston Crown Court at a later date.
