A major Kendal business has been presented with its Queen’s Award for Enterprise.

Kendal Nutricare, which creates baby formula and cereals, landed the prestigious honour last year for its international trade and founder Ross McMahon was recently presented with award by Cumbria’s Lord Lieutenant Claire Hensman.

A Queen’s Award is the highest honour that can be bestowed on a company.

Kendal Nutricare has seen a 360 per cent sales growth over the last three years in international trade.

Mr McMahon stated: “The Queen’s Award celebrates our successful exports of Kendamil into 40 countries across the world. It recognises the quality of our baby food products made with locally sourced full cream milk and the commitment of our team.”

A spokesman for Kendal Nutricare said the company was proud to add the Queen’s Award to its list of accolades.

In 2021, its brand Kendamil won the Monde Grand Gold Award in Brussels, considered the equivalent of the Nobel prize for baby food globally.

Kendamil has also been voted by parents as the gold award winner from Mother&Baby and Made For Mums for both Kendamil baby milks and Kendamil cereals
