Workington Reds have injury issues ahead of their FA Cup replay at Marine on Tuesday.
Manager Chris Willcock is also looking “at the bigger picture” as Reds will have completed four games in 10 days by the Bank Holiday fixture.
They drew 1-1 with Marine yesterday; play the replay on Tuesday; host them again in the League on Saturday and travel to Clitheroe on Bank Holiday Monday.
Gaining promotion is Reds’ number one priority this season after two unfortunate setbacks through COVID restricted campaigns.
Willcock said: “We rested one or two as a precaution and that will be the case on Tuesday if needs be when we have assessed the situation.
“It’s a busy period for all the clubs and at the start of a new season when the players have had very little competitive football for so long it is particularly testing.”
Willcock had no complaints about the penalty which gave Marine the lead in the drawn clash at Borough Park in front of 601.
“We defended poorly for that one and got what we deserved and previously they had not asked a question of our goalkeeper.
“I was delighted with our goal as it came from a long period of possession and clever passing. The disappointment was that we didn’t really build momentum from there and go on and win the game.
“I think both ourselves and Marine should be challenging for promotion at the end of the season but there are other likely contenders in the likes of Clitheroe and Warrington Rylands,” he said.
