Businesses are to fly the flag for the Lake District in the UK’s biggest tourism trade show since the start of the pandemic.
Windermere Lake Cruises and the Lakeland Motor Museum will be among 250 exhibitors at the two-day British Tourism and Travel Show at the NEC in Birmingham on September 22 and September 23.
It’s the first major domestic tourism event in 18 months.
The show is for tour operators and group travel companies looking for exciting new ideas for trips, tours and itineraries as the travel market looks to fully recover following months of disruption.
“We are delighted to be reconnecting with group travel operators and tour companies after so much disruption. We have so much to offer here in the Lake District and look forward to highlighting all that the area has to offer,” said Windermere Lake Cruises’ sales and marketing director Jennifer Cormack.
“It’s great to be able to look to the future and plan tours and excursions with confidence again. We will be highlighting new packages and itineraries that will be available for 2022 and beyond.”
Windermere Lake Cruises’ sister attraction The Lakeland Motor Museum offers the chance to relive days gone by and explore more than 30,000 motoring exhibits including over 150 classic cars and motorbikes, bikes and automobilia displays.

The twin attractions work closely together and with other local businesses to provide all-day itineraries including the ‘Transport Trio’ package which includes entry to the museum, a cruise on the lake and a journey on the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway.
Other businesses around Windermere which will also be exhibiting and showcasing combined itineraries around Windermere include:
- Brockhole on Windermere
- World of Beatrix Potter
- Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway
- Lakes Aquarium
- Windermere Jetty Museum
- Mountain Goat Tours
- English Lakes Hotels
- Tree Top Treks
Jennifer Cormack added: “We’re really excited to be reconnecting face to face with our valued group travel and tour operators. By working with other award-winning family attractions dotted around the lake, we can make sure a visit to the Lake District, Cumbria, creates memories to last a lifetime.”
