A new Sky Kids documentary is to feature a young Cumbrian activist.
COP26: In Your Hands is a new documentary featuring six young climate activists from six different continents who deliver a powerful message about how climate change is already impacting our lives and deliver an emotive call to action.
Europe’s contributor is Cumbrian Hannah Wright, a 17-year-old student, who became involved in climate activism when she heard about the plans to build a new coal mine on the West Cumbrian coast.
Hannah is a member of a Youth Climate Action group in the Lake District and has recently joined a steering committee for the Cumbrian Youth Climate Conference. She is a passionate young activist, who cares deeply about the Lake District. The documentary comes ahead of the UN Climate Change Conference next month, and her call to action for leaders to invest in a greener future.
The 30-minute documentary is introduced by Price Charles who outlines his concerns for the planet. The programme also features UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, as the host of COP26.
COP26: In Your Hands launches on October 18 on streaming service NOW TV and Sky Kids ahead of the UN Climate Change Conference, COP26 in November.
