Energy Coast UTC, Lillyhall, West Cumbria

A Cumbrian college has been recognised as an Apple Regional Training Centre.

The Energy Coast UTC has been recognised as an Apple Regional Training Centre for 2021- 2022; the only secondary school in Cumbria to achieve this.

The prestigious award recognises the work the UTC does both internally with its outstanding learning through the 1:1 iPad scheme and also the work done with the community and other schools.

Being selected as an Apple Regional Training Centre highlights its commitment to facilitate more widespread training for teachers and the community to develop skills and build confidence to use Apple technology.

Teachers from across the whole of Cumbria will now be able to attend courses at the UTC to build their knowledge and skills in the use of Apple technologies to improve learning and also earn badges to achieve Apple Teacher recognition.

Customised courses offered this year through the centre will also include:

  • Accessibility – how to make the iPad and teaching accessible to all students and teachers
  • Pages – learn how to create multimedia books
  • iMovie – building movies for kinaesthetic learners
  • Keynote – how to create professional presentations
