Today’s Carlisle United match has been called off due to COVID-19.
The Sky Bet League Two fixture against Rochdale has been postponed after Carlisle United informed the EFL that it would be unable to fulfil the fixture at Brunton Park due to a number of positive COVID-19 cases in their squad.
A statement from Carlisle United said: “In light of the increased transmission rate of the Omicron variant, the EFL will now review the circumstances surrounding the postponement.
“In addition it will assist affected clubs throughout this challenging period to help them mitigate against the risk of infection amongst players and staff, while ensuring their obligations to the EFL regulations are maintained.
“A rearranged date for the fixture will be confirmed in due course.
“The ticket office will now be closed on Boxing Day, and will reopen at 10am on Thursday December 30, when all enquiries and refunds for this fixture will be dealt with.
“All hospitality for this fixture has been cancelled – please liaise with our commercial staff during office opening hours from Thursday to discuss options, including refunds.”
