A beach in West Cumbria has reopened after an operation was carried out by a bomb disposal team.
The area between Sea Mill Lane and the cafe at St Bees was closed to allow HM Coastguard teams and a bomb disposal team to make the area safe.
A statement from Whitehaven Coastguard said: “The beach and surrounding area are now open and safe to use. Thank you for your patience while the job was dealt with.”
