A fresh meal delivery service has been launched to help people eat their way to a healthy lifestyle.

The Prep Stop, based out of a new £200,000 production kitchen facility in Ulverston called The Lakeland Kitchen, officially launched yesterday.

The Prep Stop is a subsidiary of pub group Lakeland Inns.

Executive chef, Darran Hargan, said: “We couldn’t believe the level of support on our first day. We absolutely believe in the business and the dishes we have on offer but demand surpassed our wildest expectations.

“So many people get stuck in a rut when it comes to eating, buying the same – often unhealthy – food time and time again.

“We’ve invested a lot of time and effort into creating a range of meals that suit people striving to achieve different lifestyle goals, be that losing weight, bulking up or simply maintaining a healthy diet and physique.

“There’s plenty of variety, and every meal is perfectly balanced, coming with nutritional information to promote informed eating.”

Meals, which come in three size options, are made from locally sourced ingredients wherever possible, and freshly cooked every day.

They can either be home delivered or collected from The Prep Stop’s town centre base in Ulverston.

Darran said: “Our bodies need and deserve good food. Many people live such busy lives that finding the time to prepare quality meals is so difficult. We aim to take that stress away by supplying freshly cooked, nutritionally balanced meals to cater for all tastes.”
