One of the country’s leading hospitality business consultants is offering businesses in Cumbria a unique chance to attend free workshops to help achieve their goals for 2022.

The events will be run by AJ Lakes Consultancy in February and managing director Alison Magee-Barker says they are a reset button to enable firms to reach their targets for the year ahead.

She said: “This year we have to take control of our businesses in Cumbria. For the workshops, I normally go into a large company and work for four days on all the elements, taking them through every bit of the process.

“But I’m offering that to all Cumbria businesses. I’m also adding one-to-one sessions, so they get direct access to me which normally costs my clients thousands of pounds.

“Cumbria Local Enterprise Partnership is partly funding it and I’m sponsoring the rest so it’s totally free for all businesses in Cumbria.

“And it’s not just hospitality, it’s all businesses – whether you’re a start-up or a multi-million pound organisation, this will suit you.

“It’s about taking action and making them accountable to make sure they achieve their goals.”

The Business Strategy Planning Workshops take place on February 2, February 8, and February 22.

They will be conducted via Zoom with each attendee then offered an hour-long, one-to-one session with Alison who will focus on putting in place a clear business strategy plan for the year ahead.

Together they will cover topics that will include: Vision, Mission, Ethics and Values; Budget Planning; Business Model Canvas; Sales & Marketing Strategy; Business Risk Assessment; and SWOT Analysis, both personal and business.

Companies wishing to take the process further can sign up for the AJ Lakes Mentoring Programme.

Alison set up AJ Lakes, based in Windermere, in 2017 after a successful career in the hospitality industry.

Last year she ran a Business Recovery Course to support firms struggling during the pandemic.

She added: “I’m very passionate about Cumbria and about hospitality but I am also passionate about making a massive positive difference in business.

“I just want to get as many people benefitting from this opportunity.

“If they say they’ve no time, then they really need to be on it. Because this will help them save time and give them a real clear plan to move forward.”

To attend one of the workshops, contact Rachel Riches at rachel@ajlakes.com.

A form needs to be completed and attendance is subject to approval by Cumbria LEP.
