The funeral of Workington man Nicholas Degraff will be held on Thursday.
Nicholas, known as Nic, was last seen leaving Great Clifton on December 12.
The 23-year-old’s body was found in Workington harbour on January 21.
His funeral will be held at St Michael’s Church, Workington, at 10.45am on Thursday, followed by burial at Salterbeck cemetery.
Nicholas’ sister Charlotte said: “Please join us afterwards at the Workington Legion for refreshments and to celebrate Nic’s life. Feel free to wear whatever you would like, but Nic’s favourite colour was black.
“Let’s give him the best send off he deserves – don’t cry because he’s gone, smile because he lived.”
Wristbands in remembrance of Nicholas have been created and people are urged to buy one to wear one for the funeral.
The alarm was raised on December 12 when his dog Leia was found by the River Derwent.
Huge searches were conducted around the area by emergency services and members of the public anxious to help the Degraff family.
Private divers also gave their time for free to search the River Derwent and a fund set up to help with the search raised more than £16,000.
The fund’s cash and any money made from wristbands will be split between the charities and organisations which helped with the search.
Family flowers only for the funeral. Donations, if desired, to Guide Dogs for the Blind.
