A member of Carlisle City Council’s ruling executive has stepped down.
Paul Nedved held the economy, enterprise and housing portfolio but a statement from the authority said he had decided to leave the post.
He will be replaced with Councillor Marilyn Bowman.
Coun Bowman previously held the economic portfolio and is a former mayor of Carlisle (2019 – 2021).
Leader of Carlisle City Council, John Mallinson, said: “I’d like to thank Coun Nedved for his time on the executive. He has been involved in a variety of projects and we appreciate all that he has done to drive forward economic growth for the city.
“Coun Marilyn Bowman will be a welcome addition to the executive and has a wealth of experience to bring to the economy, enterprise and housing portfolio.
“I am sure she will be a great asset and will help drive forward the many economic regeneration schemes planned for the city.”
The statement from Carlisle City Council gave no reason for Coun Nedved’s decision.
