
Emergency services were called out after reports that a person was in difficulty in Derwentwater after their dingy capsized.
Whitehaven Coastguard Rescue Team said members were called yesterday, Saturday April 12, to the lake in Keswick, in the afternoon.
The team added: “The occupant managed to swim to the safety of a nearby island to await assistance.
“Thanks to the local angler who was out fishing in their boat in the vicinity and was able to immediately assist in bringing the incident to a safe conclusion.”
