Barrow had to play for 35 minutes with 10 men but grittily did enough to earn a point in a 0-0 home draw with Stevenage.
The game had been 90 minutes in starting because of an electrical fault which affected several parts of the stadium.
There were no goals to help light up proceedings after it did get underway, but a red card for Aaron Amadi-Holloway on 55 minutes for a foul seemed to have tipped the game the way of the visitors.
It did finish 10 against 10 but Luke Prosser’s second yellow came in stoppage time and too late to have any affect on the outcome.
Barrow did go closest to breaking the deadlock before they were down to 10.
Amadi-Holloway and John Rooney both hit the woodwork and Stevenage keeper Christy Pym made a fine save to deny Barrow’s top scorer Ollie Banks.
Even late on, without Amadi-Holloway there was a chance for substitute Luke James but keeper Pym again made a very good stop.
Stevenage, who had won the home game 1-0 right at the start of the season, had their moments too.
Top scorer Luke Norris saw an effort cleared off the line by Patrick Brough and Scott Cuthbert was denied by a good save from Paul Farman.
Barrow still can’t put stress-relieving daylight between themselves and the bottom two. They are five points ahead of Oldham but Athletic do have two games in hand.
It’s getting pretty congested down there from 16th-placed Leyton Orient (33) down to 23rd Oldham (26) with Barrow (31) and Carlisle (28) among the six teams between them.
