Whitehaven scored their first win of the season when they made the long trip to London and came home with an 8-0 victory over the Broncos.
It was tough going in difficult conditions, and across the whole rugby league programme there was certainly a shortage of points.
The Broncos now play at AFC Wimbledon’s Plough Lane and a crowd of 1,411 watched a hard slog which was always fiercely contested with both sides earning most medals in defence.
There wasn’t a single point scored in the first half when Whitehaven were closest to scoring but just couldn’t get over.
The only try of the game came midway through the second-half from Connor Holliday, converted by Alex Bishop.
It was the last minute before Bishop added a penalty to see the Cumbrians over the line for a vital win.
