Cumbria rugby union was united in celebrating the life of a popular county figure who died last week.
All Saints Church in Cockermouth was packed for the funeral service of David Coulthard, president of the town’s rugby union club.
The former captain had suffered from a lengthy illness and was given a special send-off by family, friends and the rugby union fraternity from across the county.
The Cockermouth coach Chris Wright said: “Then family ensured the service paid tribute to his love of rugby union and particularly the Cockermouth club.
“Heartfelt words were spoken by Joe Fagan who articulated what a great man and leader David was and how well respected he was across the game.”

The current first team captain James Hunter said: “This is an emotional day that remembers a player, club man, a president and a gentleman.
“It’s a day when we paid our respects to Mr Cockermouth RUFC.
“He will always be at the heart of this club with some players saying three generations turned-up to show their respect.”
The burial followed at Cockermouth cemetery before friends and family gathered at Hundith Hill Hotel to exchange stories of an outstanding servant to the game of rugby union.
