A West Cumbrian school has organised a charity auction to help boost its funds following coronavirus.
Lorton School’s biggest fundraiser of the year is the village’s 10k race and this year is its 10th anniversary.
To celebrate the milestone and its return following the pandemic, organisers Friends of Lorton School have also arranged a very special charity auction.
It will be held in Yew Tree Hall, Lorton, on March 12 – the night of the race – and lots up for grabs include lunch for two at The Cottage in the Wood, an £100 voucher for Sally’s Cottages, afternoon tea for two at Croft House Farm Cafe in Buttermere and The Lingholm Kitchen and Walled Garden and vouchers from places including West Coast Adventure, E-Venture Bikes, Lake District Wildlife Park, Windermere Lake Cruises and the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway.
Tickets are £7.50, including a glass of Prosecco and nibbles and there is no charge for under-18s.
A cash bar will be available, thanks to the Kirkstile Inn which has donated a barrel of beer.
For those who cannot make it on the night, online bids will be accepted from March 1 at https://www.fols.co.uk/
Tickets can be bought from https://www.pta-events.co.uk/friendsoflortonschool
There are still places available for the race. To enter, visit https://entry.eventsupnorth.co.uk/races/a3u5y
