People in South Cumbria are asked to nominate their favourite cabbie for the national Parliamentary taxi awards.
Last year hundreds of people nominated dozens of drivers from firms across the Furness area and MP Simon Fell chose Lee Smith of 24/7 in Barrow as Furness’ nomination to go forward to the national awards.
Launching the campaign to find Barrow and Furness favourite taxi driver for 2022, Mr Fell said: “This year’s Parliamentary Taxi & Private Hire Awards are taking place in April. Last year I opened up nominations for the people of Furness to put forward a deserving taxi driver and it was great to see so many different nominations come in.
“Once again I am inviting people to submit a nomination for their chosen taxi driver. We all know taxi drivers who go the extra mile. This is the chance to thank them, and have them recognised for their efforts at the national Parliamentary Taxi and Private Hire Awards.”
People can nominate their favourite cabbie by visiting www.simonfell.org/taxi-awards-2022, emailing simon.fell.mp@parliament.uk or writing to his constituency office at FAO Simon Fell MP, 132 Cavendish Street, Barrow in Furness, LA14 1DJ.
