Police in West Cumbria have targeted anti-social behaviour in three towns and villages.
Here are three areas where police have targeted offending:
St Bees
- Police identified four young people who have been spoken to in company with their parents in relation to anti-social behaviour and criminal damage which took place at St Bees Priory on January 23. The children concerned will be attending a meeting at the church to conclude the incident with restorative justice. Officers have also carried out intervention work with the young people to prevent further anti-social behaviour and criminal offences.
Cleator Moor
- Issues have been raised around anti-social behaviour near the library on Cleator Moor Square due to reports of damage to the windows. As a result, police have been carrying out patrols in the area and provided reassurance to staff.
Egremont
- Police have also been made aware of drug and anti-social behaviour issues in the Beck Green area. Officers have delivered StreetSafe surveys to fully understand local concerns. If you have received one of the surveys, you are asked to complete it so the force can use the information to make a difference. Officers have also been conducting patrols in the area which resulted in a number of stop searches. Further work is ongoing to address these issues.
