
JJ’s B’s commanding first leg 7-2 lead over club counterparts JJ’s A meant they just needed three frames to progress to the APH Travel final.
They were contesting the second leg of the semi-final in the Workington Pool League.
Shaun Ayre claimed the first frame to try and spark an unlikely comeback for the A team but Shane Evitts and Paul Vickers restored JJ’s B’s dominance.
Captain Martyn Fisher finished off the tie to propel JJ’s B into the final with a 10-4 victory.
The other semi-final saw Harrington Legion fight back from 6-3 down to make it interesting for a while against Station Road C.
John Burns helped cut the deficit for the Legion but the tie then turned as Station Rd C reeled off the final four frames needed with Charlie Cairns ensuring they reached the final with a 10-5 win.
In the APH Travel Plate, the Vets edged a tight affair over the Miners.
After the first leg ended 5-5 they shared the initial four frames before Dan Blacklock gave the Vets a two-frame advantage.
The Miners kept their hopes alive by winning the first doubles frame but it was in vain as Gavin Parkinson secured his second win of the evening alongside Frank Lucas as the Vets progressed 10-8.
Senhouse Street took command against Station Road D as they led 8-6 but after a fightback with the match tied at 9-9 a final frame shoot-out ensued.
In the shoot-out, Station Road’s Wayne King stepped up to grind out the win.
Alan Stephenson helped the Grapes over the line as they secured the two frames needed to progress 10-1 over Station Rd B.
Packhorse A also made light work progressing by 10-4 against Lifeboat B.
