Detectives are continuing to appeal to the public for information as a second Carlisle murder suspect appears in court.

Kane Luke Hull, 29, of no fixed abode, appeared before the city’s magistrates’ court this afternoon and was charged with the murder of Ryan Kirkpatrick in Carlisle last September.

He also faces a second charge of manslaughter.

Hull was remanded in custody ahead of a further appearance before Carlisle Crown Court on Friday.

Investigations have been underway and continue following the death of Mr Kirkpatrick in Carlisle city centre on September 18 last year.

Liam Craig Porter, 32, of Fulmar Place, Carlisle, has previously appeared in court charged with offences including the murder of Mr Kirkpatrick.

Officers continue to appeal for information.

Anyone with information can report online at www.cumbria.police.uk/report-it – you can also call 101.

You can also submit information here: https://mipp.police.uk/operation/0301020118N53-PO1
