Police are continuing to appeal for information as part of their probe into a murder in Carlisle.

Liam Craig Porter, 32, of Fulmer Place in Carlisle, appeared before the city’s magistrates’ court yesterday morning.

Porter was remanded in custody ahead of a further appearance before Carlisle Crown Court today.

He faces charges of murder and assisting an offender and an alternative charge of manslaughter in connection with the death of Mr Kirkpatrick.

Investigations have been underway and continue following the death of Mr Kirkpatrick in Carlisle city centre on September 18 last year.

Officers continue to appeal for information.

Anyone with information can report online at www.cumbria.police.uk/report-it – you can also call 101.
