Lee Postlethwaite returns to the Workington Town squad for the rearranged home game with Halifax Panthers.

Postlethwaite has been stood down because of concussion protocols but is ready to resume at Derwent Park.

That’s the one injury bright spot because Oscar Thomas (hamstring) and Jake Lightowler (knee) remain out of contention.

Caine Barnes still has one game to serve in his three match suspension while Hanley Dawson continues to be unavailable. Of the long term absentees David Weetman is progressing very well and it is hoped that he will rejoin full training and contact very soon.

Stevie Scholey is also progressing very well through his rehabilitation.

The 21 strong squad is: Broadbent, Bickerdike, Brown, Clarke, Clegg, Doran, Fitzsimmons, Forber, Henson, Hutchings, O’Brien ,O’Donnell, Olstrom, Postlethwaite, Simons, Singleton, Steele, Teare, Thomson, Walker, Young.

French half back Louis Jouffret, who was with Whitehaven last season, returns to the squad after recovering from injury. Elliot Morris and Ben Tibbs are also back in contention for a pace in the match-day 17.

Returning to Cumbria will be Australian Lachlan Walmsley who was a star last season for Whitehaven and who switched to Halifax during the winter.

The Halifax 21 are: Woodburn-Hall, Walmsley, Arundel, Saltonstall, Aston, Keyes, Tangata,  Moore, Murray, Kavanagh, Garside, Fairbank, Wood, Morris, Calcott, Barber, McComb, Gwaze, Tibbs, Jouffret, Larroyer.
